With the project being officially kick started around August 2017, we have seen 10 individuals complete a Travel Skills program and there are an additional 4 people currently accessing a program. On top of this we have 3 people waiting to start a training program as well as 3 more people waiting to be assessed.

Travel Skills allows people of any age the chance to access some travel training for a fee. Prior to the project being kicked off, travel training was only available to those who are at school or college and eligible for travel assistance from the local authority. Thanks to the launch of Travel Skills we have been able to train more people to gain vital independence skills. Not only have we been able to support young people who are not able to receive travel assistance, we have also been able to support people who are not in school or college allowing us to access more of the community. Travel Skills has supported ages 14 to 24 who are either at school, in employment training or wanting to learn personal journeys for example the route to get to a family members house.

Travel Skills is still a very small project but has already managed to support people across Ealing, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Hammersmith and Fulham and we aim to support people across all West London Boroughs.
